Since 2014, the war has caused an increase in poverty in Yemen from 47 percent of the population to 75 percent.if the fighting continues, Yemen will be classified as the poorest country in the world, with 79 percent of the population living below the poverty line and 65 percent of them classified as very poor, as stated in the report “assessing the impact of the war in Yemen on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)“.
